Plain Vision is the opposite. Offline AI runs directly on the glasses. The battery swaps in seconds. Six modular boards connect through standard FFC ribbon cables, so you can repair what breaks and upgrade what you outgrow. The schematics are public, so you're never locked out of your own hardware.

This is Plain Vision One — the first model. It ships with the Brain, Battery, Audio, Buttons, and Camera modules. The Display module follows later. Everything is documented, replaceable, and yours.

ESP32-S3-MINI-1-N8 Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5 LE, native USB-C, five 10-pin FFC connectors, AP2112K 3.3 V LDO.

Module 2 Battery & Charging

24-cell 1S24P LiPo · 960 mAh TP4056 charger, SS34 diode, PTC fuse, JST-PH connector. Swap-in under 10 seconds.

Module 3 Audio

MH-M38 Bluetooth module 3.5 mm jack, JST-PH speaker connectors, bone-conduction ready. Bluetooth 5.0.

Module 4 Buttons

5× tactile switches Mode · Play/Pause · Volume + · Volume − · Photo. Physical controls, always available.

Module 5 Camera

OV2640 · 2 MP 24-pin FPC connector. Powers on-device face recognition, object search, and photo capture.

Module 6 Display (future)

128×64 OLED + PMMA fiber bundle Head-up display for notifications, translations, and AI results. Ships in a later revision.

Interconnect

10-pin 0.5 mm FFC ribbon cables Standard, repairable, replaceable. Every module connects through the same interface.

Power flow

USB-C → TP4056 → 960 mAh LiPo → AP2112K (3.3 V) → all modules Charging over USB-C. Runs fully standalone.

Cooling

Passive Thermal pad + graphite spreader + metal frame. Future: xMEMS XMC-1200 fan.

AI framework

ESP-DL on-glasses · TensorFlow Lite on-phone (optional) Face recognition, object search, and scene understanding run entirely on-device.

No. Buy once, use forever. There is no monthly fee, no premium tier, and no cloud account required. All AI runs on-device.

No. The glasses work standalone. A companion app exists for optional features like OTA firmware updates and offloading heavier AI (like translation and LLMs) to your phone, but it isn't required for daily use.

Yes. Every module is swappable through standard 10-pin FFC connectors. Schematics are published. You can replace the battery, camera, audio board, or any other module yourself, and you can order replacements from us or source your own.

Yes. A head-up display module is in development — a 128×64 OLED with a PMMA fiber-optic bundle. It will be a drop-in upgrade for Plain Vision One. Pre-order customers will get first access when it's ready.
